Local Government Awareness Week

UBCM, in partnership with CivicInfo BC and the Ministry of Municipal Affairs & Housing, presents British Columbia Local Government Awareness Week, which will run May 17-23, 2020.

This is an ongoing initiative with the goal to generate awareness and educate the public about the roles and responsibilities of local government, and encourage the public to participate in local government processes.

In light of the new reality we are facing, the wording of the Proclamation has been updated for 2020 to reflect the important role that local governments play in the lives of the public.
