Emergency Preparedness Funding Streams Open

2019–2020 intakes for the Community Emergency Preparedness Fund (CEPF) are now open, with application deadlines starting in October 2019. Streams are open to all local governments (municipalities and regional districts) and First Nations (bands and Treaty First Nations). The CEPF program supports community resiliency in the face of wildfires, floods and other emergencies.

  • Structural Flood Mitigation
    • Application submission deadline: October 25, 2019
    • $750,000 maximum grant
    • Eligible applicants include local governments (municipalities and regional districts) and First Nations (bands and Treaty First Nations) located in BC
  • NEW PROGRAM: Volunteer and Composite Fire Department Equipment and Training
    • Application submission deadline: November 15, 2019
    • $25,000 maximum grant
    • Expanded Eligible applicants include local governments (municipalities and regional districts), First Nations (bands and Treaty First Nations), improvement districts, and incorporated society-run fire departments located in BC.
  • NEW PROGRAM: Indigenous Cultural Safety and Cultural Humility Training
    • Application submission deadline: December 13, 2019
    • $25,000 maximum grant
    • Eligible applicants include local governments (municipalities and regional districts) and First Nations (bands and Treaty First Nations) located in BC
  • Emergency Support Services
    • Application submission deadline: February 14, 2020
    • $25,000 maximum grant
    • Eligible applicants include local governments (municipalities and regional districts) and First Nations (bands and Treaty First Nations) located in BC
  • Emergency Operations Centres and Training
    • Application submission deadline: March 13, 2020
    • $25,000 maximum grant
    • Eligible applicants include local governments (municipalities and regional districts) and First Nations (bands and Treaty First Nations) located in BC
  • Evacuation Route Planning
    • Application submission deadline: April 17, 2020
    • $25,000 maximum grant
    • Eligible applicants include local governments (municipalities and regional districts) and First Nations (bands and Treaty First Nations) located in BC

The new programs respond to the Abbott-Chapman Report by supporting emergency response professionals that serve indigenous communities and volunteer fire departments.
