2017 SWPI Program

All funding streams under the 2017 SWPI are now closed to applications.

All SWPI program materials were updated in March 2017. A summary of changes is now available.

The BC Wildfire Service has made available an external Quality Assurance (QA) utility to aid clients in checking their spatial information against the SWPI spatial standards prior to submission. This utility will identify errors in a potential submission so that they can be resolved and corrected, thereby helping to improve submission success and reducing the amount of time a project spends in the spatial review cycle. Instructions for how to use this new QA utility can be downloaded here.

As of 2017, all CWPPs and Updates are required to be completed on the 2017 CWPP Template. All 2017 CWPP program materials were updated in January 2018.

As of 2015, all fuel management prescriptions are required to be completed on the 2015 Fuel Management Prescription Template.

Starting in April 2017, eligible applicants may apply through SWPI to access joint funding from the Forest Enhancement Society of BC.

- 2017 FireSmart Planning Program & Application Guide
- 2017 FireSmart Planning Final Report Form - due with 30 days of completion of project and no later than January 31, 2018.
