WHEREAS the federal government has indicated it wishes to enter into discussions on a new national infrastructure program; AND WHEREAS there is no federal infrastructure funding available to local government other than through public private partnerships P3s; AND WHEREAS local government should have a choice as to the structure of the development of infrastructure projects and not be limited to public private partnerships, which do not work for small communities: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that NCLGA and UBCM appeal to the federal government not to limit its infrastructure funding for local governments to public private partnerships, because local governments should be given a choice of funding arrangements that best suits their needs.
