On December 7th, the Lieutenant Governor Janet Austin delivered the Speech from the Throne to open the next session of the Legislature. The speech outlined steps taken by the provincial government to address the impacts of Covid-19 on British Columbians as well as commitments to support a recovery.
The speech committed to ramping up investments in transportation infrastructure, expanding childcare and early learning, and strengthening health care investments, supports and protections. It focused on the distribution of the vaccine to those most at risk once available, and financial assistance for British Columbians.
