Reviewing UBCM’s resolutions process

Publishing Date

UBCM membership submits 200 resolutions to be considered at Convention each year, on average. While the high number shows strong engagement from members, the large volume can impact debate on the floor and follow-up advocacy with the Province. Member feedback at recent Conventions show an appetite to update the resolutions process.

UBCM will use the Report on UBCM Resolutions Process Review and the five-question survey to gauge if there is member support for changing the resolutions process, and if so, in what areas.

Members are encouraged to read the Report prior to the resolutions session on Thursday, September 21. The Report was included as Appendix A in the Resolutions Book.

Feedback is welcome, please send your comments and ideas to Jamee Justason, Resolutions and Policy Analyst.
