UBCM and the Province will be hosting a 1-hour heat preparedness webinar at 1:00 pm on July 25, 2022. Interested local government elected officials and staff members are asked to RSVP by July 22.
Representatives from the BC Centre for Disease Control, Environment and Climate Change Canada, Emergency Management BC and the BC Ministry of Health will deliver presentations on the following topics:
- Review of the 2021 Heat Dome and associated impacts;
- Seasonal outlook; and,
- Development of the BC Heat Alert and Response System.
The Town Hall is open to representatives from all UBCM local government and First Nations members. To participate, elected officials and staff members are asked to contact Bhar Sihota, UBCM Senior Policy Analyst, by July 22, 2022.
