UBCM has released the 2024 Outcomes Report, covering results of Canada Community-Building Fund (CCBF) investments in BC from January 1 to December 31, 2024. This is the first outcomes report under the renewed agreement, which will transfer $3.6 billion to BC communities over 10 years. New this year, the report demonstrates how regular investment in infrastructure is helping to address housing pressures across British Columbia.
This year saw 220 kilometres of improved local roads, 6,800 metres of new or improved drinking water pipes, 7,300 metres of new or improved wastewater and stormwater pipes, energy efficiency improvements to 334 facilities – and more.
Highlights from the 2024 report include:
- $305 million transferred to UBCM by the Government of Canada
- $149 million distributed to BC local governments and TransLink
- $422 million in total spending reported by funding recipients
- 988 completed or active CCBF-funded projects
- 220 kilometres of improved local roads
- 6,800 metres of constructed or improved drinking water pipes
- 7,300 metres of constructed or improved wastewater and stormwater pipes
- Energy efficiency improvements to 334 facilities
