The Ministry of Water, Lands and Natural Resources will hold an online engagement session on July 16, 2026, 1-3pm, for local governments about a suite of initiatives underway to update natural resource permitting processes in British Columbia.
The session builds on proposed changes to natural resource permitting introduced in the Fall 2025, and will provide an update on key wetlands initiatives and opportunities for feedback. Specific issues addressed in this session will include delineation guidance, mitigation approaches, and updated guidance for changes in and about a stream.
Interested local government staff can register online to attend the session, and may also provide written feedback to permittingsolutions@gov.bc.ca until August 14, 2026.
