Provincial risk assessment webinar

Publishing Date

Local governments are invited to a webinar – January 22, 10-11am – to review the BC Disaster and Climate Risk and Resilience Assessment (DCRRA). This new resource provides information and data to better understand how different hazard scenarios could affect people, infrastructure and communities across the province.

The DCRRA can be used by local governments, as well as provincial ministries, First Nations, infrastructure owners, health authorities and others, to support disaster and climate planning and decision-making. This includes identifying priority risks, understanding potential impacts, and planning for resilience actions.

The webinar is being hosted by the Ministry of Emergency Management and Climate Readiness. The agenda includes an introduction to the DCRRA, a walk-through of key findings, and demonstration of how to use the BC Hazard Insights Tool.

Local government staff and decision-makers involved in policy, planning, emergency management, and climate adaptation are encouraged to register.
