Newly elected and returning elected officials will have two ways to train with the Local Government Leadership Academy this winter: in-person regional Elected Officials Seminars and a new suite of online courses.
LGLA’s Elected Officials Seminars (EOS) are held every four years following the local government general election. The seminars are designed to deepen participants’ understanding of the local government system and best practices for civic leadership.
This winter, seminars will take place in:
- Richmond (December 9-11)
- Nanaimo (January 13-15)
- Kelowna (January 20-22)
- Prince George (January 27-29) and
- Kimberley (February 3-5).
LGLA is also developing a new platform to support online, on demand learning within four foundational categories: Governance; Services; Law and Finance. Participants can complete each online course at their own pace, from any location.
Registration for the in-person EOS and online courses will open after the election. In the meantime, please mark your calendar and stay tuned to lgla.ca for updates.
Questions can be directed to Angela Turner, Executive Coordinator, LGLA.
