Applications will be accepted for the 2026 intake of the Local Government Development Approvals program starting January 5, 2026 until the March 13 deadline.
This program supports the implementation of established best practices and testing of innovative approaches to improve development approvals processes, while meeting local government planning and policy objectives.

The 2026 intake has been expanded to include eligible activities that support:
- Alignment with BC Building Permit Hub
- Use of modern methods of construction, such as offsite construction, prefabricated construction and modular construction
- Implementation of standardized designs for housing
All local governments in BC are eligible to apply for up to $200,000 in funding, or up to $800,000 for regional projects. Regional projects may include applicants that are not located in the same region but are collaborating on, and will all benefit from, an eligible project.
