BC’s Housing Minister, Ravi Kahlon, will take questions from local government leaders during a session on February 13 at UBCM’s 2024 Housing Summit. UBCM is convening the summit to discuss the significant challenges and changes facing the housing system in BC. The two-day event, February 13-14, will help local governments take stock of recent changes to the way housing is planned and developed.
This year’s theme – Local Vision. Local Action. – highlights the focus on local governments as they respond to a sweeping set of legislative changes introduced last fall and surging provincial population growth. Summit sessions will look at housing from all angles: population growth, social needs, finance, capacity, infrastructure, legal implications, neighbourhood planning, and more. Program details will be continuously updated on UBCM’s website as panel participants are confirmed.
