The Local Government Leadership Academy’s Elected Officials Seminars (EOS) are held every four years following the local government general election and will be held this winter across the province. They are designed to deepen elected official and senior staff understanding of the local government system, and best practices for civic leadership.
The 2026/2027 EOS agenda will include presentations, keynotes, mentorship panels, and networking opportunities that build upon local and regional orientation sessions for councils and boards.
A series of three-day events will be held in each of the five Area Associations as follows:
| Region | Dates | Conference Centre |
| LMLGA | December 9-11, 2026 | Radisson Hotel Vancouver Airport (Richmond) |
| AVICC | January 13-15, 2027 | Vancouver Island Conference Centre (Nanaimo) |
| SILGA | January 20-22, 2027 | Delta Hotels Grand Okanagan (Kelowna) |
| NCLGA | January 27-29, 2027 | Coast Prince George Hotel |
| AKBLG | February 3-5, 2027 | Kimberley Conference Centre |
LGLA EOS programming will cover a range of topics relevant to both new and returning elected officials, including roles and responsibilities, meeting procedures, communications, local government finance, crisis management and more.
Accommodation information is now available. Hotels should be booked as early as possible to secure the group rate.
Registration will open this fall. In the meantime, mark your calendar and stay tuned to lgla.ca for program and registration updates. Questions can be directed to Angela Turner, Executive Coordinator, LGLA.
