Alcohol policy webinars

The University of Victoria’s Canadian Institute for Substance Use Research has announced a webinar series examining alcohol policy in local governments. Registration is now open for the first two webinars in September. 

This work is part of the Canadian Alcohol Policy Evaluation (CAPE), an ongoing Canada-wide research project that has been working to assess provincial, territorial and federal alcohol policies and their ability to reduce harms associated with alcohol consumption.

Introduction to Municipal Alcohol Policy: will introduce alcohol policy, and how it is being implemented at the various orders of government, with a focus on local governments. Presenters will discuss harms, costs and associated data, and make the case for policy changes to reduce negative impacts. (Registration link for September 3)
