The Province has announced a new one-time funding program, the Adaptation, Resilience & Disaster Mitigation (ARDM) Program, to fund structural and natural infrastructure projects that address the risk of flooding and flood-related hazards up to a value $10 million. The deadline for applications is January 11, 2021.
The ARDM program targets shovel-ready projects that have a construction start date of no later than September 30, 2021, and that can be completed by December 31, 2021, or by December 31, 2022 in remote communities. Eligible applicants for this merit-based funding program are BC local governments and Indigenous communities.
The available funding of $56.25 million is 80% federal and 20% provincial funding, and is intended to support infrastructure projects in communities across the province. ARDM will be administered by Emergency Management BC (EMBC) as part of the newly developed COVID-19 Resilience Infrastructure Stream (CVRIS) under the broader Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP).
