There will be a 2027 intake for the FireSmart Community Funding and Supports. Program materials are now available. Eligible applicants may submit one application between October 1, 2026 and December 31, 2026.
The FireSmart Community Funding and Supports program is a valuable resource for communities across B.C., and helps support preventative work that reduces wildfire risk and builds local capacity before an emergency happens.
UBCM staff will host a webinar to discuss the 2027 intake on October 21, 2026. Please register in advance.
Funding for this intake is available because of a combination of factors: Fewer applications than anticipated were received in the 2026 Winter/Spring closed intake and not all 2026 applicants completed the application process; and, Some projects from previous funding cycles submitted final claims below their initial estimates.
The First Nations’ Emergency Services Society and UBCM work with the Ministry of Forests to deliver the FireSmart Community Funding and Supports program. Funding is provided by the Province of BC.
