The federal government is accepting applications for shovel-ready, Class C infrastructure projects that can begin before the end of 2026. Funding is being provided through the ‘Direct Delivery’ stream of the Build Canada Strong Fund (BCSF). This stream will provide $6 billion over 10 years across Canada – with $1 billion available in this first intake. Applications through the online portal must be submitted before July 15, 2026.
For projects that are not shovel ready, applicants can submit an expression of interest for future consideration.
The Direct Delivery stream is one of three funding programs under the BCSF. The largest BCSF stream is the Community stream, which provides direct allocation funding to local governments, formerly called the Canada Community-Building Fund, administered by UBCM in BC.
