FCFS transitioned to a closed intake earlier this year to ensure fair distribution of remaining funds. For more information: refer to Transition to 2026 Winter/Spring Closed Intake FAQ.

The program provides funding for local governments and First Nations to undertake community-based FireSmart planning and activities that reduce the community’s risk from wildfire. The First Nations’ Emergency Services Society and the UBCM work with the Ministry of Forests to deliver FCFS.
