Canada Post Rates

WHEREAS the current Canadian postal rates and mail classifications do not allow Canadian small businesses to be competitive in the global market place; AND WHEREAS it is more expensive to mail a small parcel within Canada than it is to send the same package to the United States or internationally: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the UBCM request the provincial governments assistance in lobbying Canada Post and the Ministry of Transport, Infrastructure and Communities to implement a reasonably priced Small Packet Rate for parcels weighing up to 2 kilograms mailed within Canada.
