At its most recent meeting, the UBCM Executive endorsed a motion that called upon staff to develop a policy statement that specifically sets out a mandatory vaccination requirement in order to attend a UBCM in-person event. Such a requirement would be implemented for those delegates registering for the annual Convention, forums, workshops or other UBCM events.
The motion also requested the development of a formal policy guiding in-person attendance at UBCM Executive meetings. With guidance from legal counsel, policy options will be explored including a stipulation that all attendees in-person at Executive meetings will require proof of vaccination.
UBCM will update the membership once these policies have been developed.
