The Ministry of Health designated farmers’ markets as essential food and agriculture service providers. Farmers’ markets are not currently considered a high risk setting for the transmission of COVID-19 as they are usually held outdoors. The BC Centre for Disease Control has provided guidance to reflect the recommendations and orders of the Provincial Health Officer for the reference of farmers’ market organizers.
