FireSmart BC is seeking nominations for The Lynn Orstad Award - Women in Wildfire Resiliency. In memory of Lynn Orstad, this award will be presented annually in recognition of women who have made significant contributions in wildfire resilience and advocacy efforts in BC or Alberta.
Lynn Orstad was a well-respected fire safety advocate dedicated to furthering wildfire resiliency across all jurisdictions and levels of government. As a female trailblazer, she leaves a legacy of working in disaster and emergency management and assisting victims of natural disasters through her career and volunteerism.
The award recipient will receive a personalized award and a $1000 grant towards furthering wildfire resiliency efforts through education and community engagement. Award criteria and the nomination form can be found on the FireSmart website. For more information, please email FireSmart.
