Feedback requested on extreme cold weather planning

Publishing Date

The BC HEAT Committee (BC Health Effects of Anomalous Temperatures Coordinating Committee) is seeking input from local governments on a guidance document aimed at supporting inadequately housed populations from cold weather exposure.

To receive a copy of the guidance document, please contact Committee staff. Feedback is requested by November 15.

The BC HEAT Committee was established in January 2022 to support planning and response efforts related to the public health impacts of significant hot and cold temperature events in British Columbia. The committee is led by members of the BC Centre for Disease Control (BCCDC) and the BC Ministry of Health, with participation from UBCM.

More information about the Committee and its publications, such as the BC Provincial Heat Alert and Response System, can be found on the BCCDC website.
