The Expert Panel on the Future of Housing Supply and Affordability has been tasked with making recommendations to the Governments of B.C. and Canada. In light of the of the COVID-19 pandemic, the deadline for input was extended to June 26, 2020. Feedback may be provided via online form or as a written submission. UBCM is preparing a submission based on policy set out in UBCM’s housing strategy.
Local governments are also advised that FCM has partnered with Generation Squeeze to develop a toolkit to help local governments across Canada regulate short-term rentals. As part of this work, local governments are invited to participate in a short survey on the regulation of short-term rentals and to identify resources to include in the toolkit. The survey is available until June 5.
