UBCM’s Executive and staff look forward to welcoming delegates from across the province to the 2021 UBCM Convention. This year’s event is just over a month away, and over the coming weeks we will be detailing the workshops, keynotes and policy discussions that will feature at this year’s meeting. If you haven’t already, be sure to save your seat and register today.

Dig Deep

As announced previously, our plenary will feature the Honourable Murray Sinclair, Chief Commissioner of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission. Rick Mercer, Canadian TV personality, author and political satirist headlines our Thursday Keynote. We've also planned an array of thought-provoking workshops that will include sessions on forest policy modernizationcybersecurity and housing affordability, and the need to rethink emergency preparedness, wildfire risk and climate action in light of extreme heat events. Keep an eye out for more program announcements in the coming days ahead, and expect some truly special sessions.

Network & Engage

While you may not get caught in an engaging elevator conversation this year, the UBCM Convention is virtually bringing together leaders from all aspects and levels of government so our delegates can network just the same. This year we are creating an online networking event through a new interactive platform – details to follow. And we are very pleased to share that the provincial cabinet panels will be returning to our agenda so delegates can pose questions to Ministers.
