The Province’s review of its CleanBC climate action plan, launched in May, is seeking feedback from local governments and other interested parties.
The review, led by climate policy experts Merran Smith and Dan Woynillowicz, will evaluate the effectiveness of CleanBC policies and programs, examine progress toward B.C.’s emissions reduction targets, and recommend areas for improvement. The review will include engagement with Indigenous Peoples, local governments, the Climate Solutions Council, industry, and stakeholders across the province over the summer of 2025. A final report is expected in late fall 2025.
Local governments are invited to share their experience with CleanBC and offer suggestions for action-oriented ideas that can put the province on a durable path toward net zero emissions by 2050. Feedback can be submitted in two ways:
- By written submission (up to 2500 words) to the review by Friday, July 18, 2025.
- By emailing the review to join a roundtable discussion. Meetings are being scheduled in Victoria, Vancouver, and virtually throughout the remainder of June, and Climate Action Secretariat staff will do their best to accommodate interest.
