UBCM congratulates this year’s winners of the Community Energy Association’s 2021 Climate & Energy Action Awards.

This year’s winners are as follows:

Corporate Operations - The District of Summerland for their Low Carbon & Renewable Energy Project Implementation
Climate Adaptation - The District of North Vancouver for their leadership in the North Shore Sea Level Rise Risk Assessment and Adaptive Management Strategy
Community Planning and Development - The City of Richmond for their District Energy Implementation program. An honourable mention goes to the Capital Regional District and their Bring it Home 4 the Climate program

The Community Energy Association (CEA) organizes the awards annually in partnership with the Province of British Columbia, Union of BC Municipalities, BC Hydro, FortisBC, and Real Estate Foundation of British Columbia. Since 1998, the Climate & Energy Action Awards have celebrated the many ways local governments across British Columbia have helped their communities save energy, emissions and money. Whether big or small, urban or rural, north and south, CEA recognizes all communities bringing innovative climate and energy solutions to the table.
