Active Transportation Planning grant intake now open

Publishing Date

Applications are being accepted for the 2024 intake of the Active Transportation Planning program.

Local governments with a population up to 25,000 that meet the grant criteria are eligible for up to $20,000 toward active transportation planning costs. The deadline for applications is February 9, 2024.

The Active Transportation Planning program is intended to support local governments to incorporate or enhance active transportation components of other formal planning documents (e.g., Official Community Plan, Sustainability Plan, Neighbourhood Plan, or Transportation Plan), including research, consultation, and policy development. Funding is provided by the Province.

This program does not fund the creation of standalone active transportation plans. Funding for standalone active transportation plans for communities under 25,000 is offered through the B.C. Active Transportation Infrastructure Grants Program.

The current annual intake of the B.C. Active Transportation Grants Program closes October 27, 2023, with a rolling intake option for Indigenous communities.
