Gas Tax Revenue for Secondary Roads

WHEREAS the federal governments rebate of gas tax revenue to be used for green projects and not for roads is spread equally amongst municipalities and based on population statistics; AND WHEREAS municipalities with secondary roads require assistance with the capital costs of infrastructure improvements: THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the UBCM lobby the federal government that all gas tax revenue rebates are to be given directly to local governments which have the responsibility for secondary roads.
