As the October 21st election draws near, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities (FCM) has released its platform tracker that compares federal party positions on FCM’s key priorities. The tracker will be updated throughout the election as FCM continues to engage federal parties on its election platform, Building Better Lives.
The platform outlines a vision for modernizing the relationship between communities and the federal government. It prioritizes action on infrastructure, public transit, housing, climate action, and rural and northern communities. FCM’s platform is broadly supported by UBCM policy and addresses priorities identified by BC communities. UBCM and FCM are encouraging local governments to raise awareness of the platform priorities within their communities.
