Local government information session on ICI packaging waste

Publishing Date

The BC Ministry of Environment and Climate Change Strategy is offering an information session on June 6, 10:30-11:30am, for local government staff and officials to learn more about the Province’s possible policy approaches to prevent non-residential (ICI) packaging waste. The discussion paper, Preventing Waste in British Columbia: Non-Residential Packaging and Paper Products lays out several potential policy options and desired outcomes.

Advanced registration is required.

In addition to the info session, the Ministry is interested in hearing from local governments. Feedback is open until July 23, 2024 and can be provided by emailing written feedback and attending collaborative workshops. Links to sign-up for the workshops will be provided during the info session and can be distributed to interested parties via email after the session.

Local governments are also encouraged to complete an online public questionnaire and share it with members of your community to provide feedback.
