Zero emissions trucking webinar

Publishing Date

The British Columbia Trucking Association (BCTA) is hosting a webinar on April 27th to provide an overview of GHG modelling for the trucking sector.

Heavy-duty commercial vehicles are responsible for approximately 31 percent of GHG emissions from BC’s road transportation sector, or 14 percent of the province’s total GHG inventory. With 92 percent of all consumer goods (by weight) being transported by these vehicles, coupled with the growth of BC’s population and e-commerce, this sector’s GHG emissions grew by 43 percent over the past decade.

The purpose of this free seminar is to provide carriers and local governments with an opportunity to hear first-hand from original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) what technology exists in the zero-emission medium and heavy-duty commercial sector.  The information is targeted towards municipal fleet managers as well as staff working on climate action plans in communities throughout BC.

The original equipment manufacturers (OEM) that will be presenting include Daimler (Mercedes-Benz, Freightliner, Western Star, Thomas Built Buses), Kenworth, Lion Electric, MACK, Peterbilt, and Volvo.

The webinar will be held on April 27th, from 10:00am to 12:00pm. Interested local governments may register by contacting Sandra Stashuk.
