Old Growth Strategic Review Underway

The Province announced that an independent panel will review old growth management with communities, First Nations, stakeholders and industry. The Panel is beginning its consultations and will report back to government in Spring 2020 with recommendations that are expected to inform a new approach to old-growth management in BC.

Independent panel members Gary Merkl and Al Gorley wish to hear the thoughts of participants on the following topics:

  • What old growth means to you and how you value it
  • Your perspective on how old growth is managed now
  • How you think old growth could be managed more effectively in the future

Subject to demand and availability, the panel expects to be holding regional meetings over October 24 – December 20 throughout Vancouver Island, Coastal BC, Lower Mainland, Northeast and Northwest BC and the Interior.
