Come and learn, listen and network at the 2017 Asset Management BC Conference being held November 9-10 in Richmond. The theme is Asset Management:  Scalable – Doable – Achievable, and the conference will be packed with informative sessions on practical ways to improve implementation of asset management practices.

Kicking off the conference will be a keynote address from Guy Felio, a dynamic speaker and Canadian asset management guru, who is currently focused on integrating climate change risk into formal asset management practices. The first day will also include Local Government presenters sharing their asset management stories. Topics include:  Overcoming Challenges, Asset Management Planning, Climate Change and Sustainability, Addressing Risk and Risk Assessment, Understanding and Establishing Levels of Service and more.

On Friday the Mayor of Rossland, Kathy Moore, will present how they, as a community, moved forward with asset management understanding the challenges at both the Council and staff level. Also on Friday’s agenda will be a panel with Infrastructure Canada, the BC Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing, the Federation of Canadian Municipalities and the Union of BC Municipalities. The panel will discuss current and future funding programs, and how these programs integrate asset management practices. This includes the Gas Tax Fund, which establishes the responsibility and requirement of every local government in BC to develop and show progress on asset management practices.
