Interested in Community Energy Management?

The Community Energy Association (CEA) has partnered with BC Institute of Technology (BCIT) to deliver six online courses that qualify students to write CEA’s Community Energy Management certification exam.

Community energy management is a new discipline spanning the roles of community planning, operations, engineering, transportation, finance, and political decision-making. City-builders are increasingly being asked to consider energy efficiency in buildings and transportation, renewable energy and greenhouse gas reductions. These courses provide the background needed to respond to these new demands.

Two upcoming course offerings are:

CESA 5110 – Introduction to Community Energy & Emissions Planning
September 7 – October 28
This course describes the purpose, components and objectives of a community energy and emissions plan (CEEP) and the reasons communities create them.

CESA 5210 – Community-Based Renewable Energy
November 2 – December 23
This course provides an introduction to sources of renewable energy for heat and power and how they support sustainability, energy and greenhouse gas management goals across the community.
