Convention Session Proposals Now Being Accepted

UBCM is now accepting applications to host a clinic or workshop at the 2015 Convention in Vancouver. Successful proponents will have the opportunity to present educational and timely information of interest to BC local government elected officials. The online application process closes June 26th.

There are two opportunities for session participation: workshops and clinics. Please refer to the session details and tips offered on the UBCM website before applying online. You should also consider the 2015 Theme Statement prior to submitting a proposal.

There are four workshop spaces of approximately two hours in length available. While some proposals are accepted as submitted, preference is given to those that have multi-party participation. UBCM will review such proposals and may suggest combining them with other proposals that have similar themes.

Clinics are early morning sessions of 45 minutes in length that generally involve a presentation by a group to a small audience of delegates. Typically, five clinics are offered on Tuesday and four to five each on Wednesday and Thursday. Approximately 15 clinics are held, making this the best opportunity for inclusion in the Convention program.

Please note that UBCM receives over 100 proposals every year. All applicants will be contacted by July 31st with the results of their proposal. Before submitting, please review the outlined presenter deadlines and ensure you are able to meet these expectations.
