New Funding for Crime Prevention

$1 million in new funding for crime prevention and domestic violence programs is now available to assist local government. The funding comes through the sale of property that was acquired as a result of unlawful activity and seized under the Civil Forfeiture Act.

The one-time grant funding is available to support projects that:

  • Develop or enhance Domestic Violence Units;
  • Prevent sexual exploitation and/or human trafficking of vulnerable women and girls; or
  • Prevent youth crime.

Application forms are available on the Ministry of Justice website.

All applications must be received by email by 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. Incomplete and/or late applications will not be considered.
