Cabinet will be sworn in on Monday.

“I am so very pleased to welcome my former council colleague to her new responsibilities as Minister,” said President Sjostrom.  “Coralee's experience with the business community and local government will help maintain progress on the many active files UBCM is pursuing with the province.”

A former two-term Quesnel city councillor, Oakes has served as Executive Director of the Quesnel & District Chamber of Commerce since 1999.  She represented the rural voice of small business on the provincial Small Business Roundtable and Minister's Council on Tourism, and is past-president of the British Columbia Chamber Executives.
