SpaceFinder: A Creative Economy Tool

The newest project capitalizing on the BC Creative Economy Strategy is SpaceFinder BC, a free networking tool designed to help communities leverage talent, access new markets, maximize local investment and enrich communities through the rental market of local creative spaces.

SpaceFinder BC will increase the visibility of rental options in BC, helping venues promote and rent their under-utilized facilities while connecting members of the creative sector to the spaces they need. The state-of-the-art booking service enables venues to market themselves to renters through listing their rental space(s), including photos, rental rates and equipment, and uploading an optional digital calendar to share availability. Renters can search for creative workspaces that meet their needs based on location, price, amenities and up-to-date availability. It is free to list, and free to search.

Following successful launches in Alberta, Manitoba, Ontario and Metro Vancouver, SpaceFinder BC is expanding its reach to benefit what it hopes will be every municipality in the Province. Developed by Fractured Atlas, a New York based non-profit that eliminates barriers for artists through the development of new technology, SpaceFinder is being brought to the entire Province by BC Alliance for Arts + Culture, with the support of the Government of BC and several other public partners.
