Representative Needed for BC Road Safety Strategy

UBCM is seeking a local government staff representative, who has expertise in the development of road safety strategies and related programs, to join the provincial government’s BC Road Safety Strategy Safe Roads and Communities Committee.

The Safe Roads and Communities Committee’s role is to develop strategies that help create safer roads and safer communities throughout the Province. The members of the Committee come from various organizations and professions that exert influence on safe roads and communities in BC.

The Committee provides advice and recommendations to the BC Road Safety Strategy’s Steering Committee in order to support the vision and targets of the BC Road Safety Strategy. The overall goal of the strategy is to make BC roads the safest in North America and to work toward the ultimate goal of zero traffic fatalities and serious injuries.

This Committee is intended to assist a 14 member Executive Committee established to implement the Province’s Road Safety Strategy.
