Provincial Webinar on Drought Management

The Province of British Columbia, in partnership with the Union of British Columbia Municipalities, will be presenting an interactive Drought Webinar with the objective of improving local awareness and preparation for drought in 2017 and beyond.

While conditions in 2017 are not as severe as in the record drought of 2015, some areas of the province may experience water scarcity this year. The webinar will:

  • describe the current status of drought and provide forecasts for the province
  • describe provincial actions to prepare and respond to drought, including new tools for water regulation under the Water Sustainability Act
  • provide information for water suppliers to plan and prepare for drought
  • provide links to information resources, and
  • will include an interactive question and answer session.

The webinar will be held on July 12th from 11:00 a.m. to noon.  Participants should register for this free webinar and receive access information by noon, Tuesday July 11th.
