Seminar on New Regulations for Railway Crossings

The Canadian Public Works Association, in partnership with FCM, is hosting a series of one-day workshops across Canada on the new requirements from Transport Canada for rail crossings.  The BC seminar will be held on May 19th in New Westminster.

In December 2014, Transport Canada published new Grade Crossing Regulations for safety management of federally regulated grade crossings. These regulations:

  • Define roles and responsibilities for both municipalities and railways; and
  • Establish enforceable safety standards for new and existing federally regulated grade crossings.

The seminar will provide an overview of the new crossing requirements, obligations under the new regulations, and provide a roundtable forum for discussion and questions.   If you have questions about this event, please contact Jeannette Austin, Executive Director, Public Works Association of BC.
