Economic Development Survey Closes Soon

Local governments are encouraged to complete the economic development survey being conducted jointly by UBCM, the Ministry of Jobs, Tourism and Skills Training, and the BC Economic Development Association. The survey will close on April 2, 2016.

Your survey feedback will assist all three organizations to better support BC communities with resources, training, guidance and sharing of best practices, as well as formulate a province-wide snapshot of current economic development practices.

Through the survey, UBCM and its partners are looking to identify:

  • economic development activities commonly undertaken;
  • how economic development functions are structured;
  • planning and measurement processes in use; and
  • challenges faced by BC communities.

UBCM and its partners will prepare a report on the survey findings for local governments and the general public. See the article “Share Your Economic Development Practices” in the March 9, 2016 edition of the Compass for more about the survey.
