Certificate in Local Government Leadership

If you are a local government or First Nations elected official in BC and have attended events such as the Local Government Leadership Academy (LGLA) Forum, your Area Association conference, or the annual UBCM Convention you may already qualify for a Certificate in Local Government Leadership.

The LGLA Certificate Program is designed to support and encourage elected officials to enhance their leadership skills and knowledge. To qualify for a Level One or Level Two Certificate, elected officials must submit a record of their learning activities and courses/conferences attended using the LGLA Certificate Application Form. A complete list of certificate requirements, approved courses and other details is available on the Programs page of the LGLA website.

Applications can be submitted to the LGLA Board and Seminar Coordinator according to instructions noted within the form. Certificates for successful candidates are presented at the annual UBCM Convention by the UBCM President and the Minister for Community, Sport and Cultural Development. Applications are still being received for presentation this fall.
