Asset Management Resources

UBCM has launched a dedicated asset management web page. This initiative aims to support local governments with their efforts towards improving asset management practices and building capacity in keeping with the commitments outlined in the Renewed Gas Tax Agreement.

The web page offers links to funding opportunities and tools and resources, including several tools (AssetSmart 2.0; Roadmap for Asset Management) that were developed by Asset Management BC - a leading organization in building awareness, education, and supporting collaboration of asset management in BC.

Asset management is a process that allows local governments to develop and support sustainable service delivery based on information obtained about their physical assets and related finances. Asset management activities can include, but are not limited to, services such as water (storm, drinking, and waste water), recreational facilities, libraries, roads, and parks.

Want to learn more? Registration remains open for the free Gas Tax Update and Asset Management workshops offered by UBCM across the province this spring. Upcoming workshops locations include Richmond, Terrace, Whistler, Kelowna (fully subscribed), Cranbrook, Fort St John, and Prince George.
