Wildfire Preparation Campaign Focuses on Community

National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day, on Saturday, May 2, 2015, is a chance to organize friends, neighbours or a community group to participate in a project that reduces the risk of wildfire damage to homes and neighbourhoods.

Join others across the country making communities safer by committing a couple of hours or the entire day. Efforts will raise community wildfire awareness, help protect homes and contribute to making neighbourhoods and entire communities more FireSmart.

Up to twenty $500 awards
are available to implement neighbourhood projects. The application deadline for the awards is March 20, 2015.

Challenge your neighbourhood, friends, family members, co-workers, community service group, youth organization, club or any eligible group to create a project and accomplish something great together.

This first National Wildfire Community Preparedness Day is a collaboration of FireSmart Canada, the National Fire Protection Association, the Institute for Catastrophic Loss Reduction and The Co-operators.
