Huu-ay-aht Welcomed as Newest UBCM Member

UBCM welcomed its 196th member, Huu-ay-aht First Nations, into the association at the recent Annual Convention in Vancouver. The seventh First Nations member to join UBCM, Huu-ay-aht First Nations is a self-governing, modern treaty Nation whose lands are located in the Barclay Sound region on the west coast of Vancouver Island.

Two of the First Nations signatories to the Maa-Nulth Final Agreement are now UBCM members. The Uchucklesaht Tribe joined UBCM in 2012.

On behalf of the UBCM Executive, membership and staff, we welcome Ta’yii Ḥaw̓ił Derek Peters, Chief Councillor Robert Dennis, councillors Ben Clappis, Connie Waddell, John Jack, Sheila Charles and Trevor Cootes, their members and staff.
