Gas Tax Fund, Asset Management Workshops Set to Begin

Registration is now open for workshops in seven communities that will explore the Federal Gas Tax Fund and Asset Management in British Columbia. The events will be held through March and April in the communities of Abbotsford, Nanaimo, Kelowna, Cranbrook, Prince George, Fort St. John and Terrace.

The workshops will provide local government senior staff with an overview of recent changes to the Gas Tax program in British Columbia, including new capital infrastructure investment opportunities and updates on the allocated and pooled funding streams.

The events will also include a session on Asset Management and its integration into the Gas Tax Agreement.  Topics will include an overview of Asset Management for Sustainable Service Delivery: A BC Framework; an overview of Asset Management commitments under the Gas Tax Agreement and discussion on tools and resources available to local governments.  Glen Brown, General Manager for Victoria Operations, and Brant Felker, Gas Tax Policy and Program Manager, will lead the sessions.
