Funding & Resources Update

Each month we provide update on upcoming deadlines for UBCM funding programs, and information on other programs or resources that may be of interest to local governments and First Nations.

Local Government Program Services

2015/16 Regional Community to Community (C2C) Forums: Matching funds of up to $5,000 are available for First Nations and local governments to bring together elected officials from their neighbouring communities. The application deadline is June 10, 2015.

Strategic Wildfire Prevention Initiative: Applications are being accepted for Community Wildfire Protection Plans (and CWPP updates), fuel management prescriptions and operational treatment projects. Funding permitting, the next application deadline is October 2, 2015.

Other Funding

Leadership in Asset Management Program: Participating municipalities and regional districts can access Green Municipal Fund grants and peer learning opportunities to strengthen organizational adoption of asset management. Applications will be accepted by the Federation of Canadian Municipalities until June 15, 2015.

Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program: Local governments and First Nations may apply for up to $500,000 in funding for the rehabilitation of existing cultural and community facilities as a lasting legacy from Canada 150. The closing date for applications is June 17, 2015, 13:00 PDT.

New Horizons for Seniors Program: This federal funding program helps seniors make a difference in the lives of others and in their communities. Projects must be led or inspired by seniors. Local governments and First Nations are eligible for up to $25,000 in funding. Applications must be postmarked by July 10, 2015, 23:59 PDT.
